Our team of 338 professionals includes seasoned power plant experts from different parts of the Philippines and the world. GMEC envision to become the “First-Choice” power provider in the Philippines. This means putting our customers, the community, and the employees at the heart of everything that we do. For more than 7 years since our commercial operation in 2014, we are committed to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable electricity, excellent customer service experience, community value, and top-notch environmental leadership. Manifestation of our commitment has been evident with the sustained recommendations and maintenance of our ISO Certifications to ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
About GMEC
GMEC is a private limited partnership registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission since 2007. It is a special purpose entity organized to engage in the development, construction, operation, and ownership of the 2×345 MW (gross) clean coal-fired power plant and associated facilities in Mariveles, Bataan, Philippines.
GMEC is a Conventional Pulverized Coal-fired Power Plant built by Chinese EPC Contractor – China National Electrical Engineering Corporation (CNEEC). It has long term Coal Supply Agreement with PT. ARUTMIN INDONESIA.
GMEC achieved Commercial Operation on January 27, 2014. The equity for the power station project has been funded by Sithe Global and Denham Capital Management (“Denham”). The Engineering, Procurement and Construction counterparty is CNEEC (China). On January 2014, Denham’s equity has been bought off by the Ayala Energy Corporation Inc whereas Sithe Global’s equity has been bought off by Therma Power, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power on Dec. 27, 2016.
