Solidifying its commitment to being environmental stewards, AboitizPower subsidiary GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) recently completed their annual reforestation initiative, OkTREEberfest, in the province of Bataan last October 3 and 8, 2024.
GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) reinforced their commitment to community development and the environment through its 2024 P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. Stakeholders’ Convergence held at the Emiliana Hall in Tenejero, Balanga City last June 25, 2024.
Armed with a shared passion for protecting the environment, 34 volunteers from GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) embarked on a vital mission – a coastal cleanup along the Sitio Aguawan riverbank in Barangay Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan last May 23.
“Para sa amin po, ginagawa lang po namin yung trabaho namin,” said one of the contractors while thanking the employee volunteers. “May makuha man po kami o wala, ayos lang po para sa amin. Pero maraming salamat po dahil nare-recognize po kami, mas pagbubutihin pa po namin yung trabaho po namin,” he said.
GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Environmental Forum on Understanding Climate Change and Mangroves this May at Pulo Integrated School in Sitio Pulo, Barangay Kabalutan, Orani, Bataan. This is one of the company’s initiatives under its 6.8M Mangrove Adoption and Protection Project, a five-year program aiming to develop a five-hectare mangrove expanse in the said area, which is the first of its kind under Bataan’s environmental program Project Transform.
